Storm Ciara incoming

I've just got in from my back garden amateur radio aerial farm, lowering the telescopic mast, and the crank-up/tilt-over mast, bringing my antennas down to ground level in preparation.
The 'local' airport - Manchester Int'l - is forecasting winds of 70mph overnight and tomorrow, and strong winds, hail, and snow all next week.
-
So get out there now, tie down your shed roof, and fill the kiddie's trampoline with pavng flags, or something, before it really gets going!

I've just been out and put some weights on my wheelie bins to stop them rolling round the garden.

Had my fence destroyed by a flying trampoline a few years ago. Made sure the trampoline wasn't fit to be used again before the owner removed it :D

Next door have lost a couple of fence panels (posts broken) - some years ago we had all our post replaced with concrete ones and slot-in panels - appears to survive most winds. Just watching the weather forecast (9.10am) and the guy says the worst is still to come!

So far so good - East Anglia appears to have swerved the worse of it, although we are still expecting 40-60 kts today and heavy rain at lunchtime.

A bit breezy but no damage as yet. I did take the precaution of leaving both cars in the street in case anything came off the roof.
A local Facebook site is starting to fill up with pics of wayward trampolines - the worst is the one that was installed on a balcony, with the owner commenting that they had tied everything else down!
Beware, these people walk amongst us.

Ha ha, the man upstairs looks after his own :D . Only prep I did was to take down my union flag and moved a few small plant pots to a more sheltered spot.
Most people are shocked when they find out how bad I am as an electrician

Was in Doncaster for the Railway Exhibition. Drove back home today. Fairly easy on the A1 until east of Leeds. All L let loose. Five minutes later it was easy going again. From County Durham to home, sunshine all the way. Now to look at the purchases bought. :D
