Use it. If it eventually gives up the ghost due lack of updates it won’t have cost you anything. I’ve just had my EE Samsung unlocked and given to my sons partner. Saved her buying a new one.

Quite agree. I tend to use mine till they die.

It all depends upon the version of Android that is currently on the phone.

Android 9 is the current flavour, and gradually you will find that your phone will stop being ableto access websites,etc.

If you are going to simply use it for phone calls and texts please ensure that your mobile data is turned off at all times.

Then you will be safe to use it ad infinitum.
