how does it work from ipad. Took mine from desktop, by dragging it to choose image

Taking a picture on the iPad is the easiest way.

i tried that, but it did not load. So, heather sent them to desktop

Just done it. Take picture then click on "use photo" bottom right hand corner.

Oh dear, not sure i should have learnt. Will take a photo of my O gauge cabinet, and see if i can ipad that.
