Great pictures Buildboy so very lifelike, it feels like your at the station with those fellows in blue.
Very well thought out, the way they are positioned you can imagine the conversation they are having.
Is this the right train or what carriage are we in? Like it a lot.

Many thanks for your comments. I have done very little of late and have been trying to have a "clear-up". I don't have a work bench as such, so an old railway board, suitably cut, sits above my control desk. It is usually covered in pots of glue, paint pots,brushes, tools, half opened packets of whatever - so a real mess. The most constructive job done recently was fitting brake rods to two Merchant Navy Class and a West Country Class loco. It was a fiddly job, but with a tube of super-glue and a pin, it all went well. The problem is, when the mobile work bench is in place I can't operate/move a train without moving the bench to the floor. Barry

A couple of pictures of a new addition to the Wykeham rolling stock - a Hornby BR 2-BIL EMU No.2134. Unfortunately it's visit might be short lived! It runs beautifully, but the 3rd-rail pick-up fouls the 3rd rail, this is despite the 3rd rail being fitted exactly as set out in the instructions. It's ok in a straight line, but on curves or points it sticks.

I would be tempted to 'adjust' the pick-up.

Great pictures BB - looks very much like real life, as always...... hope a bit of fine adjustment sorts the pick up problem, as this EMU certainly looks the part on Wykeham.

The pick-up shoe on the loco is very small, in fact it is very difficult to see when the train is sitting on the track. If I "adjust" it as WTD suggests, possibly with a sharp knife, I think that might do the trick. I don't like taking a knife to a brand new model, but as I say you cannot see the part.

I think I've rectified the problem - without going under the knife. The pick-up shoes are probably less than 1mm thick and have two legs that attach them to the bogie - there are two on the front bogie (one either side) and two on the back bogie on the second coach - so four in all. It was only just catching the third rail, but enough the turn the bogie, so I have used a file and reduced the depth of the shoe to probably about .25mm - and it seems to have worked. I have run the loco the length of the layout and it completed this without any problems. I will check the third rail is all bedded in on the rest of the layout. I've put the elastoplast away WTD.
