No, it isn't real wood, but thanks for the complement. :D

It's Evergreen plastic grooved siding. It is a good substitute for that sort of planked construction. I painted it the colour I wanted then just weathered it. The weathering is just my acrylic brown/black very thin mix dabbed on with a brush then quickly sopped up with a tissue. I use a lot of Evergreen and Plastruct products. I do also use wood on occasions where I feel I need the graininess it offers. Usually match sticks, coffee stirrers etc. The only problem with wood in OO is that the grain can be over scale if you aren't careful.

Ah. It works better that way in 7mm scale as the grain doesn't look too bad. Trying to find an example of wood grain. Not sure if the grain can be seen in these pictures. They are made from real wood (Though the open waggon is a form of ply).

The larger scale do have an advantage in this way. Fair play though. I was convinced your tram used real wood. I could just about see plasticard or a similar material for the windows. Quite a talent there.
