Marvelous imagery. Going to imitate a few scenic details you have.

The layout is not all about railways. :)

It must be nearly home time? A couple of ladies waiting outside Roseville School for their 'little darlings'.

Driver John Thompson (of W.A. Glendinning, Shotley Bridge) was regularly seen in Leeds. Here he is about to talk to Foreman Tim Sullivan.
IMG_3589.JPG
As an aside -- At term times from school, drivers from Archbold's (Storage & Distribution) would take me to Newcastle and the North East of England. At the same time John Thompson would take a very young photographer and then author Bob Tuck to Leeds. Bob began working 'down south' and I found work in the North East ( where I met John)
Twenty five years ago today I met Bob (for the first and only time). We both had lost a dear friend.

As well as the bird on the fence, a bird has landed on the signal. Will it fly away when a train arrives?
IMG_3605.JPG

A train is due. It is safe to cross the road. The postman is waiting for someone to answer his knock on the door. Two dogs with him wait patiently. In days gone a dog did not have to be on a lead and some would follow the postman.

New scenery to the rear of the layout added. Old trees removed and new ones 'planted' plus bushes added.
