As I move along with my 00 gauge layout, I have a space at one end that is 48 inches across at the bottom, with a semicircle that is 42 inches to the 00 gauge track at the top. I already have a village at one end, a station and an industrial estate in my layout. So I was thinking of a 009 gauge mine in this area. I assume that this area would provide enough space. What would be a minimum radius for curves? Is the Knightwing mine top building a good choice, or are there better kits to use? I guess that the space is too small for an elevation change?
I will try to post some pictures of the rest of my layout in the next few days to give an idea of what I have. Open to all ideas.
Thanks, David

Re: Layout ideas
Nothing wrong with your Mine idea, but I see no mention of a depot on your layout - where do your locos sleep between rosters

Here are some pictures. I welcome ideas for the blank space. I already have a village, station, and industrial area.

Plus one for a coal mine. Plenty of kits available

Re: Layout ideas
I am familiar with the Knightwing kit. What others are there? I would like one with a " winding wheel" at the top. Appreciate suggestions.
