Bondic plastic welder

I have not heard of this product before and also don't remember anyone mentioned it. I saw an advert while watching a model railway vid. If it is as good as the advert demonstrates it is an adhesive worth looking into. You put it on the item being joined like super glue and then cure it with ultraviolet light. Comes with a pen like dispenser one end and an ultraviolet light torch at other end of the pen for about £15. I am certainly going to get one to try out.
The advert claims it to be very strong bond, once cured, which takes only seconds. Also, excess glue can be sanded or cut to shape.
Would like to hear if anybody else has tried this product out and what they think of it.
Sorry if this has all been posted before by somebody, but I have not noticed it if it has.

Been discussed several times on here. Dentists use a similar, or could be the same, product for fillings. Pretty good stuff by all accounts. Available on Amazon etc.

Thanks for that walkingthedog. I have not been on here long so that must be why I don't remember anyone mentioning it. It seemed better than super glue to me I intend trying it out.

JML were selling something similar a couple of years ago via the Range.
It has limitations - if the UV can’t ‘reach’ the glue it won’t set. Not ideal for opaque items as a result.
But I did find it very useful when attaching crew to locos where a ‘blob’ of glue is less obtrusive and a quick set is needed before the figures fall over.
No danger of misting from cyano fumes either.

Quite mixed reviews on Amazon with 17% giving it a minimum 1 star.

When I brought this subject up I think I should have asked if anyone else has any experience of the stuff. Sound from the comments that it is not as good as it sounded in the advert I saw. As you say works well on building up teeth.

It's worth is dependent on what it's being used for, same as any other glue.
Any adhesive in the wrong conditions won't perform properly.
Horses for courses and all that.

It is used for coating some fishing flies, it's a type of epoxy, paint it on and cure it with the UV light.
It certainly works on the flies, but it still gets chewed up by an angry trout!!

Thanks, Steve, for reply seems you are the only one who has tested it out. I should not have taken advert so seriously, In the advert it sounded like a new wonder glue stronger and more versatile than any other product on the market. Clearly it is not. Never mind
