What Couplings should I use
What Couplings should I use
Hi, I have been making one of these models(first attempt at making rolling stock models) I have attached the model from their site, but it's a Parkside Models Southern Railway Utility Van. It comes with everything, but any Couplers. Please could anyone suggest what I should suggest what I should purchase for this? My Layout is mainly Hornby, and I am not bothered about any authentcity and just run everything out of the box. Using the couplers that come with rolling stock.
Many thanks
Many thanks

There will be lot's of opinions on the 'best' or 'most suitable' and even the most 'realistic' couplings to use.
Mine, for what it is worth, is go with a one that will link to existing vans and locos are you're going to need to change some of them too.

Ok,thanks. So If I was to say buy some Hornby replacement couplings, then I could still fix these to the Coach?
Thanks

What type of Hornby couplings do you have, wide, medium, narrow. You will certainly need to do a bit of mini engineering to make the fit. What is it like on the wagon where they will be fitted. We really need a picture or two.
Nurse, the screens!
Re: What Couplings should I use
I guess it would be wide. Its the same type that you would be on a train/carriage that it is supplied with.

Re: What Couplings should I use
Looking at the links, the mounting blocks, actually seem to actually come with the carriage, wasnt sure what they were, but the Bachmann couplings look to be what I need. Thanks
