All's Quiet on the Shankly Front
I haven't forgotten that it's a model RAILWAY forum, so I've made a point of getting some railway action mixed in with the football celebrations. I've just done a web search for locomotive D7596 and have found out that it was withdrawn from service in 1981, so it doesn't really fit my 2019 scene. That said, the two Routemaster buses are of a similar vintage and that doesn't really bother me either. My scene is more about atmosphere than realism.

The Victors
I've wanted to put a close up photo of the players on the victory buses with their names. It's caused me some trouble to get a reasonable shot. I thought I had done it last week, but when I looked carefully I realised that it looked as if Sadio Mane was punching Mohamed Salah in the head. An optical illusion that I did not want to upload. You may remember that some time ago there was a news story that they had fallen out because one of them had shot at goal and missed when the other was in a more promising position nearby. All nonsense, of course, but not something I would like to add gist to the mill about.
So here they are from left to right.
Leading bus: Jordan Henderson (captain), Georginio Wijnaldum, Mohamed Salah (goal scorer), Sadio Mane, Andrew Robertson, Adam Lalana (unused substitute), Alisson (goalkeeper), Jurgen Klopp (manager) and Trent Alexander-Arnold (hero of the semi-final second round).
Second bus: Fabinho, Virgil Van Dyke (man of the match), Divock Origi ( substitute and goal scorer), Joel Matip (standing behind Origi), Roberto Firmino, Xherdan Shaqiri (unused substitute), James Milner (substitute) and Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain (unused substitute).
If you are wondering what happened to Joe Gomez who came on as a substitute, I have to confess that I made a mistake when painting the figures and missed him out. I'm rather embarrassed about this and it's certainly nothing personal. I think he's a very fine player who has stepped up and proved his worth. My plan is to buy (or change another figure) to add him to the scene. Sorry Joe! I also want to add Daniel Sturridge who was an unused substitute and who I have great respect for.
That's the last of my Victory Parade photos, so I'll be uploading something completely different tomorrow. Perhaps with more trains. Perhaps.

Keep Calm
Have a Cuppa
And Play Trains
I hope these photos are not spoiling your escapism from the current harsh reality of life. The idea started to came into my head after I wrote Post 135 where I contrasted the crowds of people watching the Liverpool FC Victory Parade in 2019 with our new reality. Then I looked at the layout with nearly all the figures concentrated near the Victory Parade buses and I was struck how the empty parts of the layout looked like today. That was the germ of the idea.

Re: The Shankly and Gdynia Railway
It's okay so long as the figures are two metres away from each other.

Yes, Glencairn, I keep religiously to the two metre rule, immediate family excluded, and so do my model figures.

Where Do the Homeless Go?
The Postman Always Gets Through 3
You may have to look closely at the first photo to see the two winos lurking in the shadow of the shed. The second picture shows Mr Stink and his dog Duchess, who we met in an earlier post. People have always practised social distancing with Mr Stink, but the advice to stay at home is rather meaningless for the homeless. Picture three shows another key worker getting on with their job without making a fuss. Notice also the ambulance doing what ambulances do.
