Hi Mick.
The railway looks wonderful! other than sharing the same general area, is the layout connected to the country park of the same name featuring a large viaduct and aquaduct?

Re: Ty Mawr
Thanks Steve. The layout is fictional but the aqueduct is very loosely based on Pontcysyllte aqueduct near Llangollen. The name Ty Mawr came about when my wife (who is Welsh) and I visited the aqueduct. We walked down a path underneath and there was a sign post to Ty Mawr. I asked her what it meant and I used the name for my fictional layout. At first the layout ended under the aqueduct but after a move from the original room it has been extended. If I’d had more room to start with I would probably have planned it differently. It has therefore developed in an organic (ad hoc) sort of way but there is plenty of operational interest.

Excellent modelling
Most people are shocked when they find out how bad I am as an electrician
Re: Ty Mawr
I'm not too far away from the area myself, and have visited the country park a number of times... walking under the viaduct and looking up is quite something!

Re: Ty Mawr
Hi Mick - that really is very good. You say it's based on an "old" 0 gauge track plan, but is it 00? I thought the station building looked familiar. BB

Re: Ty Mawr
Thank you WTD and BB. The station is a Metcalfe GWR and the track plan in front of the station is based on the O gauge layout ‘Halstead’.
