The only LNER engine (and in Apple Green) I have. A must have. I used to see regularly when I was a lad, albeit in its latter number of 62754, 'The Berkeley'.

Here it is doing a few circuits prior to me switching to running diesels.

The smoke looks very good. When I saw the first smokey picture, I thought I was imagining it. Then I thought that you had photoshopped the smoke into the pictures. I'm glad that the truth has been revealed.

I have mentioned a couple of time I take the unorthodox approach.

When I am at the controls I see only (about) 30% of the track. I like my trains to run through 'overgrown' scenery. Sometimes all I see of a steam engine is 'the smoke'.

My approach to modelling would give the 'purist' and 'not so purist' 'screaming habdabs'. Apart from pinning the track down most of the scenery is scattered around. The ballast is not stuck down. Neither is the scenic flock etc. The trees and bushes come perilously close to the track.

Some say I am 'looking for trouble' in the way I do things. The basic plan of the layout has been down for nigh on 25 years. I think it will see me throughout.

I like the last two photos with the figures. They definitely add something to the scenes. I hope you don't mind me saying, but I can't help thinking that the female in the pink top in the last photo has an unusually large head. Or perhaps it's just me (I've missed a visit to the opticians due to lockdown).

Are the supporting timbers around the canal wall at Clarence Dock a railway track on its side with the lines
removed?

Thanks for your comments, IanAlan. I am just playing around with some figures at the moment. Some of them are Chinese rubbish I originally had at the rear of the town scene on the old layout, just to populate it. They will have to go! I am looking at figures from Hardy's Models. They seem to have some 'Northern England looking' women. SWMBO has given the green light to buy some.

Thanks for your comments also, Puddles. Yes, the supporting timbers around the canal wall are pieces f railway track (minus the rails). They are easily repaired if knocked by my Grandchildren's little hands (when they are here and 'in charge').
