I have built this coaling stage out of balsa. When I first built it the sides were too high and of different lengths to make it look a bit worn out. Unfortunately it looked like it should have been manned by the 7th Cavalry againt an Apache attack.

That really does look good - I did initially think you had been raiding the coffee stirrer shop again :D I bought some balsa wood from Hobby Craft a little while ago - I needed a bank loan. When I was a lad a sheet of 1/8th balsa 3ft x 3" cost about 10p - well the equivalent.

I bought a bundle of assorted sheets from a dealer at a RC aircraft show a couple of years ago for a couple of quid. Thought I’d better use it.
