[Malcolm 0-6-0]

This a little corner on my layout in the second and smaller of the two goods' yards. I used Evergreen sheet etc. for the small hut and roofed it with paper slates. It has Evergreen channel section for the guttering and thin rod for the down pipes. The chimney pot is just a length of Evergreen tube. Next to it is a coaling stage built out of brick card and Evergreen, painted and weathered with my thin brown/black acrylic wash with a scatter of real coal. The planked trolley way is just matchsticks painted and stained.

The engine is a Bachmann LMS 1F 0-6-0T. The hut is a copy of those quite common buildings that used vertical planks as cladding and is about 50 mm to the roof ridge. I incorporated a fireplace inside with an image of a fire which, if you look in the window you can see, but being an inch tall would help immeasurably. I grassed the area behind it with a scatter of fine sand mixed with flock and put a small tree in there. The yard is just grey painted thin balsa sheet to replicate tarmac. It needs a scattering of objects and junk but that will come later. The wall is some thick card material covered with brick paper and topped with a balsa strip to replicate a cement cap.

At the left of the engine you can see the bases of the water crane and its little fire devil.

Yes, very good indeed. I love the richness and variety of the textures. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to see a photo with the fireplace visible through the window.
