Home Grown!
I will need some trees on the layout fairly soon, and have been looking at the "sea moss" variety - lots of you-tube videos on how to do it. Today, two packets of seeds arrived so that I can grow my own. I will not wait for the seeds to grow, before trees are added, but wondered if anyone else had tried this. It would appear it grows to about twelve inches high, which I think is taller than what you receive in the "tree kits". I'll report back next year!!
Re: Home Grown!
Barry, I’ve not grown my own but I have made sea moss trees for Low Ghyll from the ready boxed stuff. Should I do another ‘how to’?

Re: Home Grown!
Hi Steve - Thanks, but I've now watched a few! I'm not quite ready for trees yet. The sea moss ones can look very authentic. I've got to get some "grass" down first, and more work on the cliff. I've been past the one at Portsmouth cliff today - it really needs to look dirty, so I think plenty of scatter, probably thrown at it when pva covered. Barry

Yes please! I'd love to see this as it sounds ideal... Even though I'm not a Barry! Ooh. You said you didn't grow your own... Sorry. My mistake. Still is interesting. What plant is sea moss anyway?
