Hi, just as an experiment i have an on30 DCC Bachmann 50-ton diesel that i want to remove the DCC & run with an onboard a battery with radio control on a no-volt track. Any ideas for maximum DC battery voltage./
When on DCC, it was fine at 17.5 volts although a little slow. But i assume DCC is a completely different thing to direct DC. Problem is, that there are no specs with these locos. Thanks
What voltage for my train??

Re: What voltage for my train??
Do not apply DC power to the motor terminals with the DCC decoder still connected to the motor. It would cause the decoder to become defective if it is done. Remove the two decoder wires - Orange and Grey from the motor and only then apply DC directly to the motor.
12 volts DC is the norm, and while DCC rail volts may be higher the decoder will provide the maximum motor volts via the setting in CV5.
