The Continental is a beautiful piece. That it is under catenary is splendid.

The class 77 (EM2) was the express passenger equivalent of the EM1 (76) Bo+Bo electric which were the mixed traffic mainstay of the Manchester - Sheffield / Wath electrified main line.

I was lucky enough to work at Tinsley near Sheffield in the final years when the class 76s were still in service. A few pictures are attached.
