Coffee Time in Armodilloville

Three and a half minutes of absolute rot. I did wander into some new Clanadonia today, just brilliant stuff, so perhaps I will roust myself to fire up Henley this weekend. Had a chance to fire up this new old SW 1500 shunter, that has a custom low gear drive. Model rail manufacturers have the worst time understanding that model railheads like stuff that can run sloooooooow reliably, not like slot cars. I am sure Puddles would agree. (I did my best to throttle down on the bus, but still a little rapid, alas. Running this layout is like spinning plates at the circus). Well, I should note that Hornby, with the exception of the 0-4-0 tank, has made great strides in this regard, from the days of Triang and 200 SMPH locomotives.

Ooops, I posted under the wrong thread, so sorry.

The layout is 4x8 feet. At one point it was extended with a 4x4 L, but this seemed rather bulky and didn't add to the story of Armodilloville, so back
it went to 4 x 8. Using the same plan as Henley, the diamonds were a late development, and it certainly makes it a more interesting layout to run.
If I turn my back on it for second, the trains end up tangling.
