Hi from South Northants
Hi from South Northants
Back in the mists of time when I was a nipper my Dad built my a layout for me and my brother. I think it was probably 2m x 4m and in OO gauge. I've been thinking of restarting the hobby now that retirement is beckoning but given the lack of space I'm going with N gauge.
My main interests are in building the layout, including scenery (something we never had as kids) rather than actually operating the trains. So my first layout will be circuits rather than shunting yards.
The era is going to be modern but I intend to have one steam loco. Unfortunately it's proving hard to find the specific loco I want - a 6201 Princess Elizabeth - in N gauge. That was the main loco I had as a kid and it would be great to have one.

Hi andruec,
Welcome to the forum. I'm sure you will get plenty of good advice here as well as plenty of inspiration too.
Ah, Princess Elizabeth. I guess that was the Tri-ang OO version? Sorry I can't help with the same loco in N gauge, but others may well know of such?

Re: Hi from South Northants
Thanks guys! We actually had two versions, and I think you're right they were both Tri-ang:

Ah that brings back memories
I remember breaking the cylinder block and struggling to find a replacement. We eventually did but, sadly, it never quite fit properly.
