Wykeham - Somewhere in the south!

Have a look at Sakura Pigma Micron fineliners on Amazon. They may work for freehand lettering.

Re: Wykeham - Somewhere in the south!
I'm sure we have all done it, but I have just spent an hour or so creating an interior backscene for the Metcalfe Library. I used Google Images looking for "library interiors" - in other words filled bookshelves. I downloaded the picture into "Paint" and reduced the size to fit inside the building and attached it to a false backwall - and nobody will be able to see it - but I know the books are there .

Know what you mean Barry. If you hadn’t had done you would be thinking I wish I had.
Nurse, the screens!

Ah, but what are those books? Fiction, Non Fiction, Thrillers, Biography's, Auto Biography's, Real life crime etc? Or even Railway Modelling.
I bet if you could see them, they would look very lifelike!

I know exactly what you mean BB. On my previous layout I built a Gas production plant (which I have saved most of for my new layout) in which the retort house goes underground by quite a few inches. In it there are workers emptying the coke from the retorts and loading them on to an escalator (non-working) back up to ground level where they will be taken away. This (basement) also contains a staircase, tools like wheelbarrows and fire extinguishers. And none of it can be seen anymore than the internal working gantry crane - but you can hear it. It took me weeks and I did take several pictures before the roof went on. Can be seen on my Youtube channel.

A couple of shots of the library - I turned the power up a notch on the second shot - I thought the ground floor lighting might be a bit brighter than the other two floors? Now for the department store.

The top photo is great. You can see the books easily! Well done.

I can’t read the titles - poor show.
