Hello

Post by Seadog »

Hello from a not so sunny Lancashire.

I've been a member of the forum for a few years now and have gleaned some extremely useful information from many of you so I thought it's about time I introduced myself.

As a kid, back in the mist of time I had a Hornby Dublo train set which was handed down to me from my older cousins which I loved. Unfortunately after a number of years both transformers died and I left home and joined the Merchant Navy as a Marine Engineer. about 5 years ago my retired Father in Law bought a layout and I helped him with the electrics which reignited my interest in the hobby. About 3 years ago I decided to build a model railway when a room in the house became empty (long story so I wont bore you with it). I planned it out using SCARM and started building. I joined the forum around then and found loads of information on here to help me but I never felt I had anything to offer as I was a complete newbie. However after 3 years of building I feel in a much better position to comment but still able to ask those somewhat stupid questions that only a newbie would ask.

So once again hello.

Welcome you'll already know it is a great forum and full of useful advice and friendly people.

Photos are always welcome, a picture says a thousand words (reminder to myself: post more pictures and say less!)
