Forum Zoom Meeting – Monday 21st December 2020 at 8.30pm

Hi everyone

A (silly!) idea perhaps, but I thought it would be a bit of fun to hold a Zoom Meeting on the forum.

This meeting would be for you to introduce yourself, and perhaps wish everyone a Happy Christmas - not to spend time showing everyone your latest acquisition or your layout. The meeting will take place on Monday 21st December 2020 at 8.30pm.

You do not require a Zoom Account to take part, but some operating services may make it difficult/impossible to join in. You just click on the link at the given time. Make sure your camera and microphone are “on” and not in “mute” and make sure the volume on your equipment is turned on/up – there will be no time to sort individual problems out.

My basic Zoom Account allows up to one hundred people to participate for up to forty minutes. I know the forum has many hundreds of members, so it may be a case of “dipping in” and leaving after a short time.

I must emphasise this is supposed to be for a bit of fun and is not a MRF initiative, I am sure it will be chaotic, carnage and a catastrophe – but it will be fun and may make you chuckle.

I look forward to seeing you all on the 21st December at 8.30pm.

Having worked out where the camera on/off switch is to be found - count me in.

As many of you who have used Zoom will know, a normal Zoom meeting is conducted by the host (me, in this case) sending an emailed invitation, to all those participating, and at the given time everyone clicks the link they have been sent. In this case, when I post the live link next Sunday, it is an open invitation not only to anyone on the forum, but anyone who happens to be viewing the forum, member or not, and anywhere in the world. I will monitor the meeting for as long as it runs, and should anything that might cause concern happen (bad language etc.), I will close the meeting down immediately. I'm sure this will not happen - this is just for a bit of chaotic fun, lets make it that. BB

I will give it a try though I don't know if it will work. It wasn't that many days ago I was supposed to do an online meeting and it did not work on my device so we had to have a telephone meeting, so if it works it works and if it does not then it does not.

I will try to remember. I don't even know what day it is these days as time travels so fast.
