What colour paint to represent brass?

I am building the Ratio Signal Box interior kit, and there is a row of clock etc., that in real life are brass. Any ideas what colour paint is a close match?

Picture shows interior of Corfe Castle Signal box.

Humbrol number 54 is a colour called Brass. Might do the trick.

Thanks Brian and Ian - I typed the question before looking on ebay. It's another one of those things, that once completed you won't be able to see it  Barry

Barry, I bought a set of metallics from the Lifecolour military range a while ago - four different shades of brass!!!

I'm not sure whether Hobbycraft is open, now that we are in Tier 4. Also Hobbycraft may be doing away with their Humbrol range, when I went in the other day, all of the Humbrol tinlets had been tipped into one large box and you had to find the colour you wanted - a real pain.

Thanks Steve - I'll check them out. Barry

If you already have some gold paint, you could mix in a little brown earth or ochre ( yellow and brown) to make it more like brass. Of course, it would be less shiny if you can live with that.

I have used for years Phoenix precision paints ( Based in Essex 01268 730549) and they are very good. Good advice over the phone too. Search them on line.
I have a tin of their Brass number is P984 Brass. Been using this tin-let for ages and it looks, well just like brass. No need to tone it down it does that by its self. The blob I put on the top of the tin has, so I know what is inside.
