I assume you are referring to the approach to both the ST241 points? The length of available track prior to the engine going over these is the same as in your earlier posting on Nov 11 at 6.05 (post#29). Did the engines run over the points OK then or not? R-

And I take it the loco does run, has clean wheels, the track is clean and there is power along the length of it? R-

So, the next thing I would try is a piece of track longer than the ST 202's you are using on each of the three ways of the points, the R606's will do. See if that slightly longer "run up" to the points will get your engine over the frog. R-

Many thanks for your help. I found another way for solving this problem: I dismantled the actual layout. Now I can build another switching layout on this baseboard without any electric issue. :D

Depending on what you have available and how much you’re prepared to spend, it may be worthwhile investing in electrofrog points. It will also help with later upgrades to DCC

Electrofrog do work better but also need a little extra wiring. Nothing too complicated though.

Thanks. Insulfrog points are the best choice for my DC layout. DCC ? maybe one day. Who knows...

It works ! :D I slightly modified the original track plan. I added a few more track sections and my little steam loco runs very well. Now the dimensions of the layout are: 1.40 m x 0.25 m.
