Peco Ratio coaling tower

#1

Post by Carl L »

Please could someone tell me the distance from the front of the coaling shute to the back of the rear legs? I can't work out whether it's the 116mm or 92mm dimension. It's so I can work out the positioning of a coal road in front of the tower.

Thank you.

The coal shute is in the centre of the tower.

WTD,

thank you for the reply, at ground level it's the measurement from the front of that shute to level with the back legs, is it 116 mm (the length of the model) or 92mm (the width of the model)?

Sorry to be a bit thick but what do you mean by the shute. Are you referring to the conveyer that takes the coal from ground level up to the top? A sketch would be helpful.

Ah right, I seem to remember the tower is square so the extra 24mm is the depth of the conveyer so the measurement is 116. Think SteveM has one on his layout.

Thank you both, I can position the coal wagon road now, prior to yet more ballasting. Order placed for the tower today with a diesel fueling point and more yard lamps. More interesting now than just wiring, as was this time last year. Lockdown does have some advantages.
