Does anyone own the railroad & co train controller I have but my key stick is broken it's my fault I left it plugged now it won't work can someone tell me what to do thank you and stay safe.

Can't you download it from the web site to a USB again.

If it's the USB licence stick then you'll need to contact Freiwald and have it replaced. There will be a charge for this - about 15 euros I believe.

Can you still see the file(s) on the stick when its removed correctly and then plugged back in again? Using Windows explorer assuming it plugged into a Windows PC?

It's a licence stick where the licence key is somehow embedded in the firmware. You can even format the stick with Windows and Traincontroller will still recognize the licence.

My PC does not see the key at all .

That doesn't mean it's not there of course, as the software should be able to access it. Unless the stick is completely knackered.

As teedoubleudee says, if the PC doesn't see it doesn't mean it's not working. If it is a licence key only then they don't always show up as drives and the software accesses the licence through the stick. However, the fact you say the software isn't working and can't see it to me says the stick is faulty.

Ok finally got a answer from rail road & co regarding the USB license stick they wanted another £500 plus so that's not going to happen . Has any one had dealings with itrains or jmri id like to know thanks for all your help .
