I've got all my locos out of storage and this evening have made a simple oval of track just to see how well (or if) they still run. Really pleased to find that they all did, a bit jerky at first but they haven't felt rails beneath their wheels for quite a while.
However, one of them runs backwards and I've no idea why! Maybe I never used in on the same track as the others before so never noticed, I can't remember.
(four locos run in one direction and the fifth in the opposite direction)
They are all the same make (Fleischmann).
Has anyone had similar experience and offer any advice on how to fix it (I'm not much of an under the bonnet person when it comes to these tiny N gauge engines)?

Well the simplest(?) solution is to open it up and swap around the wires that go to the motor.

Two solutions. One is to swap the motor terminal wires around, BUT the most likely cause is that the magnet has come out and been put back in the wrong way round. Turning the magnet the right way round will solve this.
Try to determine what first caused the problem before you resolve it. Did you put the motor in upsidown or did you once take the magnet out? Or did you simply resolder the wires the wrong way round as some stage? So try to correct it the way you think it was done to resolve the issue.

I realise that I'm going to have to take the bull by the horns and sort this out. I've tinkered about inside OO scale engines before but find the N gauge locos so fiddly.
Still baffled as to how the situation came about as I have no recollection of doing anything to cause it, but I suppose the evidence is there and I must have done at some point.
