Ah I see. You might find that the lights dim when you fire the CDU. Personally I wouldn’t do that. Give the CDU its own supply.

My latest acquisition is new knowledge and realisation of the lack of the same needed for a new loco.

I saw and brought a pristine Wrenn Air smoothed body of Plymouth, no chassis. I found out that the chassis block was only made for that loco and the body will not fit on any other chassis. So now its shopping around to find either a full working spam can chassis (hens teeth comes to mind) , or collecting the parts to make one. Loco maybe worth about £300 if completed and working

Found and brought a chassis block casting may need to get the screw holes threaded, found and brought a set of 6 West Country main wheels, two axels and 2 connecting rods (drive axel missing) Will be interesting to find what parts were commonly used in other locos and what was made for that loco only. The engine housing looks the same as the Wrenn Duchess / City so some parts maybe interchangeable in that section.

Interesting times ahead i think

Two of these. One built one to go. The next one will be without the vents and painted bauxite I think.
