Painting and Weathering Service
Re: Painting and Weathering Service
This model was made before Rail road range was even thought of.

Fair enough I don’t know what model it is. Just saying white edging is on some locos. Have only looked at a few pictures. Is it Flying Scotsman or an A4?

I cant find the R number but it is the first USA tour set A3 with crest on cab side loco. It had the older type chassis with shiny chrome motion and I replaced the chassis with a newer darkened motion chassis to improve it. I think it was circa 1980s. Made in Margate.

No doubt I will get a reply from Fox’s in the week but I am getting closer to an answer.
There should be a very slight white highlight on some edges of the letters - it clearly shows on some pictures I have found. It appears from closer examination that the red shading on the transfer is out of register allowing too much of the white base to show.
Borne out by the sample pictures on their website as there is quite a variance between the three versions they produce.
I do have an old sheet of Modelmaster transfers that I used to redo my Railroad P2 and there is much less white showing - unfortunately I don’t have enough of the number 4 on that sheet. Also they don’t show a sample pic on their website which isn’t helpful.
Sandy, once I get the right transfers I will do both tenders to match.

"Not very stable, but incredibly versatile."

Wow that is going back a bit sandy.
The picture I used was the real thing but next to each other it does look a bit over the top.
