Evening gents, thank you for all the suggestions and guidance, I have tried to programme on the main and again on a programming track, still no joy any further suggestions?

Try programming in REG mode. It often works with an awkward decoder when Direct mode doesn’t.

As I said in an earlier post "Devils own work"!

OK suggestion... So programme on the main as this is where you get full track current ... Ensure the rails are spotlessly clean, even if they look clean give them another clean.
Next, ensure the locos pick up wheels rims are also spotlessly clean too.
Now, just before attempting the programming gently press down on the loco and begin the programming maintaining the downward pressure until prog has finished. (You may need help in doing this as three hands are needed!)

If that doesn't work then its possible the decoder is defective? Contact Hornby Customer Service for help and return.
