tanks for all your help and advice. i have been told that some bahmann locos do not like hornby track. dealer has kindly offered refund on return

Thats not true about Bachmann locos and Hornby track. I think the curves you are using are too tight for a CL37. Longer locos don’t like sharp curves no matter what make the loco or track is.

i can understand that. any suggestions for an alternative diesel. i have a class 20 bo bo that runs good. anything like that out there to look for

You might like to look at class 24, 25, 26, and 27. They all have 4-wheel bogies which may help with your problem
