You have been busy. I've seen vids of those helix kits, reminds me of my Meccano days lol. I have a chop saw I use for wood, never occurred to me to fit a metal blade doh!

Teed, its not a blade, its a grinding wheel. Goes through metal, very cleanly. This was not a helix kit. This was a John kit, with shares in a threaded rod, company. It was 7 tier, 29 inches high. I have cut it into 2, 14 inch high twins. Now spaced about 7 foot apart, hence bridge.

I beleive the NMRA standard for this is 63.5mm.

UK OO is different.
Peco Setrack/Hornby is 67mm while Peco Streamline is 50mm centre of two parallel straight tracks.

I cant really see the reason for this as any straight edge will give track 1 a nice straight line for fixing, then once line 1 is secured you can use the measurements or a couple of Peco SL-36 rail gauges to set line 2 and the straight edge is used again to correct any slight sideways movement in the second track etc.
Also we still do not know if the track being laid is Setrack or Streamline which determines the "6foot way" spacing!
