Some old photos

#1

Post by IanS »

We are 'tidying up' and I came across an old digital camera. In it was an SD card with these photos of trains. I'm not sure where they were taken, but from the date they were taken in August (not October) in 2010.

Some more old photos taken at a heritage railway somewhere, possibly in Leicestershire?

Hi IanS. I am almost certain the photographs are of the Great Central Heritage Railway.

Not that old according to the date. About 10 years.

I agree about the location the 20 and 45 both live there.

You're both probably right about the location. I also have photos of the friends I was with. One of the gentlemen lived on the outskirts of Leicester in a place called Earl Shilton. He had moved down to the midlands from Washington and each summer 4 of us would travel down and go on a day trip out somewhere. Heritage railways were one of the places we'd visit and we also went to the canal staircase (can't remember it's proper name or place). Sadly he is no longer with us and one of the group of 4 has died too.

As for the 'old' bit, it is now nearly 11 years so quite a long time ago!

I guess it depends how old you are to say 11 years is a long time ago :)

There are several staircase locks, did you visit different ones.

Well, 11 years is 16% of my life, a not minute portion.

Unfortunately no, only the one. I think it was the one at Foxton as that name rings a bell for me :D
