8-05pm : Ex LNER J50 0-6-0T number 68959 rounds the curve past the locoshed with a short trip freight, comprising one lowmac and a brake van.
A few minutes later she passes through the station on the Up Main
before coming to a halt opposite the exchange sidings.
She then propels her train back onto the sidings of Albion Engineering Ltd.
Leaving the brake van on one siding she then pulls forward again
before shunting the lowmac onto the other siding. The engineering company have hired in a road crane to unload the large packing case on the lowmac, which contains a brand new widget making machine.
The J50 then collects the brake van before heading back to the Up relief siding
.

Bank Holiday Diversions (1).
With the West Coast Main Line closed for engineering work during the Bank Holiday weekend several workings were diverted via Lostock Junction - much to the delight of the local train spotters and photographers.
First is an English Electric Type 4 D368 on a Down Sleeper working.
Firstly seen rounding the curve past the ICI loco shed
Close up of one of the sleeper carriages.
A couple of minutes later the train is seen passing through Lostock Junction station.
