Hamdden Railway Co.
Re: Hamdden Railway Co.
Assuming it is all 00 gauge track, then it is likely to be compatible with the rest of the track in the box. Peco, Hornby and Bachmann track in 00 settrack versions are all compatible providing they're code 100. Old steel track can cause problems due to rust but can be located by the magnet test!
Best look to see what is there then ask specific questions however as there are many more makes of track, especially HO that are the same gauge but more difficult to integrate.
Good luck!

Presumably steel track can be cleaned up and will work as long as it’s cleaned regularly?
With the bikes and outboards I use a maintenance flued to stop rust, it also works as a switch cleaner I’m thinking it should work on the track.

Check what your cleaner does to a piece of gash track first, particularly any effect it may have on the sleepers. R-
Young at heart. Slightly older in other parts.

Cheers Roger, I’ll select a piece of gash track and use it for experimenting, lots of things to try out on it such as ballasting, painting etc.

Re: Hamdden Railway Co.
A lovely dry evening so out with the folding horses and ripped out most of the timber for the base.
What do you guys call the room with the railway in?
Dave.
Back on the bench the “L” beams are screwed and glued.
Legs are likewise screwed and glued with blocking to take the Casters.
Next thing mark it all out on the bench then assemble in the spare room. What do you guys call the room with the railway in?

Cheers teedoubleudee, Ian, good one Carl and thanks
.
Here it is set up, though it’s hard to get far enough back to get a good photo I’m pleased with the casters, will make it very easy to work around it. Waiting on the track now so will be a while before the next instalment

Hello journeyman
I see you have a couple of castors that have wheel locks, good idea to fit them as you don’t what the layout to keep moving about when you are stretching over to do some work on it. Take forever if you had to chase it around the room looks like a good bit of sturdy carpentry you have done looking forward to seeing the track go down.

It does not take me long to do five minutes work.
