Simple OO Gauge Test Layout
Simple OO Gauge Test Layout
Hello,
I'm going to build a very simple and basic track test layout. No scenery or greenery at this moment. The baseboard is already built. It is 98 cm x 130 cm in size on 15 mm chipboard. The track is simply nailed down. There will be two DC controllers. I'll use Hornby track and Peco points.
This video gave me the idea: Kittyhawk & Stingray 00 gauge train Test Tracks
All your comments, advices and criticism will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Simple OO Gauge Test Layout
I think your test track is more useful than Kittyhawk as you have points, and it's often these that cause the trouble. Now you can test your locos and rolling stock, but I'm wondering what you are testing them for. I'll watch the progress with interest.
Re: Simple OO Gauge Test Layout
In fact, the name of this layout is just a justification for building a small and simple layout. Nothing else.

Gilles Villeneuve and his son Jacques were both racing drivers, just assumed you were a fan of the sport.

Can we bring this thread back to the topic please? R-
Young at heart. Slightly older in other parts.

Re: Simple OO Gauge Test Layout
I think building a test track is an admiral thing to do (I built one myself ). It gives noobies a chance to learn and practice new skills as well as testing rolling stock. Though I would hardly call the proposed layout "simple", it's far more complex than my "real" one. LOL
Most people are shocked when they find out how bad I am as an electrician

A test track certainly should have a set of points.
