Hi Glencairn,

Lovely picture of Western Ranger earlier in the week - you can almost sense the power from the loco.......I do love a Diesel Hydraulic.

Having saved my pocket money during lockdown, I have just fitted premium sound decoders to several of my Diesel Hydraulic fleet - must try to do a video sometime as the Western and Warship in particular sound awesome.

Cheers - Richard

I think I have mentioned it before, but if not ---
When I was 16years of age a work colleague let me read his copy of Model Railway News. In it was an article about 'Westerns'. I was hooked and promised myself I would have one or two. ---------------- I have twelve.

They all get a run at least once a week.

Once you start it is hard to stop. I also have 12 Class 55s, and 11 Class 47s plus others. They looked okay when I had the layout in the loft of the house. Not so in the spare bedroom -- sorry train room.

A couple of scenes of Class 47 47517 Andrew Carnegie with a diverted Leeds Central to Edinburgh 'North Briton' Pullman Service.

In real life a diverted service would travel the line to Wetherby and then turn left on the Church Fenton to Harrogate line. Arriving in Harrogate the train would be back on track to Edinburgh.

At a cold, snow-fallen Sovereign Street Station.

A muscular line up. I can hear the motors softly thrumming impatiently, waiting to make good haste.

All three a long way from home..

A misty, almost rainy day as Class 25 25218 on a Leeds Central to York local, waits at the signal.

And near the Junction. Is the mist clearing?

The same train near Canal Corner. A shaft of sunlight.
