I posted photos of my nostalgic H0e and Trolleybus mini layout in 2019 which was built to use my collection of Eggerbahn, Jouef and Minitrains items as well as Eheim/Brawa trolley busses.
I have tried tokeep to H0e scale but these I could not resist !
Bachmann 009 Baldwin 4-6-0 in Welsh Highland livery plus slate wagons.
The loco has DCC and sound which for it's size is incredible !
The slate wagons are also heavy for their size and run well.
I have bought this original Roco Minitrains set recently .
The layout has not run for a while but hope to get it running soon.

I also like Joeuf and Einheim, and found ways to worm it into both North American HO and British OO.
You'd be kicking yourself if you didn't sweep up that great little quarry train.
Speaking of self-kicking, I rather wished I not got mired into North American HO, but like selling puppies, I find it
almost impossible to get out of it now.

Yes the WHR Baldwin is very nice as are the slate wagons.
Here is a photo of a 5" gauge slate wagon I built some years ago.
I am also into North American H0 and gave up on 00 many years ago due to the poor performance of the locos available, many of which could not pull up a slight grade without slipping or stalling.
When I tried an Athearn Blue box GP7 with it's all wheel drive I was astounded. It would pull a dummy loco and many freight cars so I sold all my 00 and concentrated on H0.
This was many years ago and have since built my present layout based on the U.P. main line over Sherman Hill ( Just a part of it ! )
I also run other U.S. roads and recently received a Norfolk & Western Class A 2-6-6-2 by Broadway Limited which is superb.

Well, that's interesting. The vintage Athearn Blue Box stuff is very sturdy, and will likely outlive all of us. I, too, found that British OO was often limited to high speed running, and some of the tender drive stuff particularly nightmarish. Though of late I've been a watcher of Sam's Train Review, and whilst some rather dislike his style, he has saved me a lot of headaches, and I am astonished at the quality that can be found in OO nowadays. Certainly a step up from my '66 Wrenn.
A word to the wise, AHM made a lot of American stuff under various names, including Pola. Be careful, a lot of it, not so much Pola, of the head end power is really badly made with poor transmissions and inferior pick ups. I rarely get anything for head end power unless it is an old Blue Box.
Sherman Hill, as you know, was Big Boy country. As the American Transcontinental worked its way west through that territory, around 1865, the local Native Americans were less than enthralled by their new neighbors.
I am a big fan of the Athearn blue box models, I think they are virtually bomb proof.
I modelled the American scene for about 30 years.
The only problem is they are mostly BO-BO or CO-CO wheel arrangements.
