Re: Space X launch today
Brilliant as usual!
Most people are shocked when they find out how bad I am as an electrician
Re: Space X launch today
As I said previously... Wosh and its gone into space! Most of it never to be seen again! Cost = mega $.
What a boring item IMO.
A space rocket launch is now an everyday event. USA, China and Europe and every other country with a few Billon $ spare are launching space rockets, including India, who take a considerable lump of UK aid money, but have many thousands infected and many dying of Covid. But still launch mega $ space rockets - Really!
So I ask why is this so important?
Nothing like seeing a loviinly restored A4 (or enter your chosen loco type) thunder through a station at high speed!

Totally agree with you about giving countries aid and they then have a space program. SWMBO gets extremely agitated about it.

Everyone entitled to his or own opinion Brian, Personally I still marvel at the technological acheivement of these launches and to bring back those boosters and land of them on a barge floating in the ocean not much wider than the booster's height is incredible IMHO.

I totally agree about overseas aid too. Instead of giving them money we should be sending them vaccines!
Hope this thread doesn't turn political and get removed as I for one like to hear about these launches. Please remove this post if it offends.

Ditto the amazing tech and without expanding on the politics of it ditto the foreign aid.
Similarly at home - don't give them real money, give them ‘vouchers’ or goods in kind, if at all.

Re: Space X launch today
TV does not do the launches justice, being there is quite spectacular. We were lucky to witness a satellite launch some years back when we visited the space centre. The flame is terrific but the noise is something else it seems like the whole place shakes as it goes up and as much as I like an A4 thundering past it cannot compete.Brian wrote: ↑Thu Jun 03, 2021 7:16 pm As I said previously...
