Drummond 700 Class
Drummond 700 Class
I quite fancy one of these Hornby models but were they freight, passenger or mt.
Thanks

Re: Drummond 700 Class
I am a fan of 0-6-0 engines and Drummond designs, if I my layout was southern based would have a 700. I don't know about the early days, but in BR times they were used on some passenger services.

The beauty of model railways is you can run whatever you like . The article I referred to mentions that Hornby produced the "Return from Dunkirk" train pack which did indeed match this loco with a passeger set, so I guess it must of happened.

I wish I could bring myself to do that! Then I could have CR blue Macintosh. I am considering Hornby's J15 as I can just about justify mixing LNER with LMS. I am often tempted to switch to early BR era as then I could run anything.teedoubleudee wrote: ↑Fri Jul 02, 2021 11:40 am The beauty of model railways is you can run whatever you like

Re: Drummond 700 Class
On my layout I only run green Great Western or GRW locomotives with brown/cream coaches. The only exceptions are a lovely lime green Pecket that delivers coal from a "private" mining company and a fireless shunter working in a Gas production plant: both run on private rails. All wagons throughout are private owner. But that's just my choice . As for locomotive duties I've no idea what should be pulling what (other than my autocoach). If any "purest" enthusiast came and visited my layout he/she would soon be shown the door if they objected!

The only criteria I used was a set period and the only reason I did that was to stop me buying everything.
If a purist saw my layout they wouldn’t object, they’d be to busy running down the road screaming.
