Figure painting

They look very good - I really like the "walling" around the bus shelter - very impressive - it's the colours used that can add to the realism. I have just given a group of Hardy's Hobbies people a quick misting of white primer - now to sort out some colours. Your pictures have given me some inspiration - which is a little lacking at the moment .

Off the sprue awaiting a final "tidy-up" before painting - to think these are actual people who were "3D'd".

The figures certainly give a standard to aim for, somehow I feel I might not get that high a standard.

I am about to try my hand at painting and have been recently brought some Revell aqua acrylic paints to try my hand at airbrushing.

On the Aqua Revell colour chart some colours are marked with a symbol that looks like a map pin and a red Xmas present !

Colours such as 36150. 36161. 36155

The symbol appears on a range of colours and finishes ( Matt, metallic, gloss).

I have tried searching for the meaning of the symbol, but no luck.

Any ideas that spring to mind ?

It’s a red square with a gold roman numeral II. I have no idea what it means.

I would never have thought of using cat litter, but I have used 'budgie litter' although this requires the removal of many, many tiny pieces of broken shells (from a beach, not an egg). The cat litter wall certainly looks impressive as do your hedges on another thread.

Thanks Ian.the good thing with the cat litter is it requires no painting.

With regard to my map pin query about Revell acrylic paints.

The pin and flag denote a new product and the 11 is a new addition in the second printing of the catalog.

Basically a new colour, in the catalog since last printing.

If you are viewing the same pdf file of the paints as I am, at the bottom of the page there appears to be a page number.

I guess the symbol explanation comes up on page 1.
