Yup, the Jura, and Strasbourg have peco full range, the latter with 20% off. I ordered mine from both, with only 8 euros delivery. Germany, was dearer. Uk, waste of time. Length of track, means no Post office will accept. Hattons, delivery and customs, brings tears to your eyes. Many others i tried, have stopped posting to Europe. I dont blame them, customs is a nightmare, of paperwork. I am actually, quite pleased , as both shops have full peco range, and can supply all my needs.

I'm awaiting an or der form Hattons to Spain, last week it was sent back from Madrid for lack of my tax number and now it's back in Madrid awaiing clearance for two days - not sounding good as last time this happened the parcel was delayed ten weeks! So if indeed is the case I'll have to find a source of British outline models within the EU

Wow, if I may say, you are jumping in with both feet. Do you have experience with building model train layouts? If not, might you consider a smaller version, first, for the purpose of trial and error?

I wonder if buying from a shop in Northern Ireland would get around the Brexit Border, anyone tried this?

Thanks for this. Mostly track and accessories. Although I already have the track I'll need accessories from time to time so it'll be a handy option.

I checked out model store in NI but there's not much there, But I did find Irish protype models there so that's my something new learend for the day

I'll check out Spanish suppliers for anyone out here also looking, there are qyutre a few but nothing for British Outline.

Meanwhile back to the OP; I did a bit of research and finally opted for Hattons as my main supplier. Reasons: they have a wide range of products and manufacturers, certainly enough for me, and a very boyant second hand section - all of the stock I have on orded are pre.owned so we'll wait and see how this works out! - plenty of special,offers and what they call a 'Trunk' where you buy and pay for items but hang on to them until you have a large enough consignment to make the delivery costs eficients, say at least £150 for me. They are also based in Merseyside, well I'm originally from the Wirral so if ever I go back to Britain I could go there and colelct in person - I think the duty free allowance is €450, anyone know for sure?

At the moment my fist order is stuck at the ciuriers company's international depot here in Spain. It had alredy been sent back before even getting that far as Hattons didn't ask for my tax ID which was subsequently added in by hand - NO GO! - now it's back with a new printed label but on thursday I had a phone call and email politeky asjing me to confirm that my goods are not childrens' toys and will only be used by me, i.e. not by children - As if, it's MY train set after all So we still don't know if this is going to work. Hattons also say they have a syste whereby the VAT you pay is transferred over to the importing country, where they are VAT registered so here's hoping for the best.

I must say the Hattons support is first class. You don't get to mail with the same perosn but they all seem to know what the other is doing with your 'case'. I think we're all on a learning curve with the custis issue so I'll offer to liaise with whoever is in charge of that about the feedback from my purchase.

Phew, time to go plane my frint door and get it revarnished before it snows - as is forcast for tomorrow here in the Pyrenees! - so I'm in no real hurry for my models!

Gosh, indeed they do! Not so much for me in British Outline - I'm into ex-LNWR, GWR, BR - but they do have a ravishing looking USA Dock tank that found their way onto British metals but what made me want to buy right away is the dinky little 'junior' 0-6-0 tank for just €59. I'm hoping to include some Bishop's Castle Railway into my fleet and this looks 'British' enough serve as a sort of freelance addition - at least with a bit of imagination ...



But as I panic bought a pre-owned Oxford Rails 'Dean Goods' from Hattons this very morning - a snip - I think I'd better keep my credit card under lock and key for the rest of the month.

They alos have some Spanish models and French models that would serve witha paint job and some detaols so if ever my premium bond comes up - still waiting after 64 years so it's bound to be soon - I'll buy a locale and build a Pyrenean exchange station model
