Farren’s workbench
Farren’s workbench
Sorry haven’t posted on before, so thought I’d put up some things I’ve been doing on and off over this year.
Here’s some pictures of a LNWR Crain I built needs some transfers and builders plates to finish and also a Mainline Royal Scot now fitted to a Bachmann dcc jubilee chassis with Markits wheels allowing the correct wheel weights

Re: Farren’s workbench
On the work bench today is a Jubilee which was 45611Hong Kong and is currently having some surgery. She will end up as 5609 Gilbert & Ellie Islands, with a domless boiler and a Stanier High sided tender. The tender is a plastic card construction on a Bachmann Fowler tender chassis. And is waiting rivet transfers the lines are just a guide as two where they will go when they finally turn up from the USA. She’ll be in LMS Crimson lake C C1936 Livery A 6 (if I remember correctly)

Re: Farren’s workbench
That is a very nicely done conversion.
Where do you get your rivet transfers from?

Re: Farren’s workbench
Hi Steve the Transfers are by ARCHER, They are a US based company getting them in the uk can be interesting as they do sell well. However doing quite search on the internet you might find someone with them in the uk at the time. But it’s easier to just order them from the US either them themselves or a model shop over there.
Hopefully this link will work

Re: Farren’s workbench
The Bachmann jubilee as had its boiler finished and is now domeless and is ready for its coat of Crimson this will have to wait for the tender to be finished which is waiting for its rivet detail. Though it’s starting to take shape.and should fit in with the others of its class. The LNWR no 21 Crane as had some more transfers applied to it and the match truck. Needs a crew and some plates but these will need to be made.

Fazy, on the subject of rivets.........
Quite by accident, I noticed that a UK based supplier sells a limited range of 3D printed water slide transfer rivets.
I have used their 3D printed name and number plates in the past and can thoroughly recommend them. Only one type of rivets are available but as they are available in OO and N it could be an alternative to the US version.

Re: Farren’s workbench
Latest project is the first model for the new layout planed. The layout itself will not be started until the spring as the loft is a little chilly. The layout will be the L&YR LNWR joint station Chorley based in the 1930’s.
