New layout design - What do you think?
Hi everyone,
This is my proposed layout design. It is 3.6 x 3.1 meters. I have plans to have two cutouts and can walk around the layout edges, so will be able to reach all areas.
I wanted a tail-chaser design but purple\yellow track will be hidden behind a scenic 'break'. So the tail-chaser effect will not be so obvious.
It uses Peco Streamline points with all other track flex. The minimum radius is 2nd.
Behind the scenic break there is a access to a lower fiddle yard. One track goes down on the left and one on the right.
Any constructive comments would help.
Thank you in advance.

The Reverse Loop will need some attention, will need a R.L.M if a DCC layout.
Sorry I'm late but I couldn't get my flip-flops to work
Re: New layout design - What do you think?
The outer yellow track does not connect on the r/h side, nor the inner track on the l/h side. R-
Young at heart. Slightly older in other parts.

Some of the orange sidings are too short for anything but a single small loco.

They connect to the lower fiddle yard, as stated by the OP.

Thanks Brian, missed that. R-

I had not noticed the Reverse Loop. It took me a while to see it.
I little advise will help. I have attached another picture. There are two green circles. Can I isolate this track length and wire the RLM here?
Re: New layout design - What do you think?
Assume your layout will be DCC (Digital) operated. If so then the answer is .... The rule of a Reverse loop is that the longest complete train - Loco and all carriages or wagons must fit inside the loops isolated track section. i.e. in between the entrance and exit IRJs
I have marked the plan with what I consider to be the longest RLM section shown by the Blue line. You would use six IRJs and feed the blue outlined area from the RLM output.

Dear Brian, Thank you for the info. That makes sense. I'll bear it in mind when I come to build.

Good eye, I could not see that for love or money. This is why I stick to circles.
