I had an OO backscene on my OO layout and it looked OK. Now it is behind an O gauge layout it looks much better.

For modellers wanting a backscene showing things near, then the same scale models and backscene is necessary.
The backscene I have at Sovereign Street & Clarence Dock showing warehouses have to be close to the main scenery.

That’s the last of the wonky fenceposts fitted. I’ve toned down the bright copper wire with a coat of grey and a rust wash.
The A4 is a new occasional project - I found a 3D printed body for the A3/4 water tender on eBay when I was painting the tenders for Sandy earlier this year. He gave me just enough encouragement (and a spare chassis) to make a start.

The corner between the viaduct and the engine shed was originally screened by two flat sheets of ply - a very inelegant solution, and a real pain when it came to cleaning track and/or retrieving stalled stock.
Yesterday I put together two removable landscape modules. Usual method - Jablite insulation blocks carved to shape and encased in plaster bandage. The horrible geeen paint can dry while I wait for a delivery of static grass from WWS.

I had a small disaster last week. I had been testing a section in the MPD but failed to turn the controller all the way to zero. The result of the excellent slow running capabilities of my 2MT was a death dive off the lift put section. Fortunately there is only light damage to one edge of the cab which I am slowly building up with Vallejo putty before respirating the cab.

In the meantime I’ve added a simple barrier made from some bent aluminium and held on with some neodymium magnets. It won’t stop an express but the crawlers will be pulled up. It may be upgraded with a couple of hinges in time.

It is often said that a dropped slice of toast will always land buttered side down.
For the record, the same applies to slabs of landscape with freshly applied static grass!

Today is clearly a good day not to do any modelling. :(

I’ll try that at work Barry. ;)

The two sections are now covering the hidden tracks at the rear of the layout. It’s a challenge disguising the flat panel in front of the tracks as there is not enough depth to the board for a properly sculpted hillside. For the time being I’ve stuck a bit of backscene on it and should be able to complete the disguise with some thick trees and bushes.

Completed the first batch of Seafoam trees and placed them loosely around the viaduct. Would have made more but I ran out of spray glue and the local shop hasn’t had a delivery of anything for months.
