Island platform width and

#1

Post by jeepee »

Can anyone help me with this little problem, I am laying my track and want an Island platform. I need the width of it so that I can work out my track distance. Also is there any difference between British width and German as I am doing a German railway. I am using Peco track ' Thank you

The platform is as wide as is required. Up to you. Depends if you want a building on it. What make of platform are you going to use or are you scratch building your own.

I have a fallor "Schwarzburg" railway station which will be on one side ,but then I thought if there is a standard width for an Island platform between the two tracks I could either buy one or make one but I want to start fixing my track before doing anything else which is why I need a size to work to. :?

How about making a quick mockup out of cardboard or paper and experiment with this with where you are placing the track. That's what I do when I've had similar things to work out.
