All our grandchildren love to run the trains - their way.

Julia is our youngest and is a 'train nut'. She likes to be around the 1-1 stuff whenever possible. :)

I have always wanted a Director's Saloon. As there is none commercially available I decided to make my own.

A simple way is to alter a commercially available carriage.

With my donor carriage I dismantled the body from the chassis. Removed the seating and plastic windows. I then cut away the supports for three windows and filed them level with the body.

Some decals were removed. New plastic windows inserted.

The seating was altered to open plan. The parts reassembled, New footboards added. One Director's Saloon. Total time to do conversion. Less than one hour.

With the small amount of wagons I have purchased from Medway Queen Preservation Society I can have a running session with them. By renaming Clarence Dock to Gillingham Pier for a few hours and running my two 'Terrier' locomotives trains ran.

The two 'Terriers'. One on a passenger train, the other shunting in the yard.

LMS Royal Scot Class 6149 'Lady of the Lake' on a photo shoot at Leeds Sovereign Street Station. The model has mainly been on display and hardly run. I have a driver and fireman for her and then she will be 'earning her keep'.
