Portencross : Waterside Goods Yard progress
Portencross : Waterside Goods Yard progress
Hi Folks,
At least a month or more behind original schedule, but the addition of a proper Goods Yard to my Portencross layout is almost complete.......I am sharing some pictures of the empty Goods Yard at Waterside, before the wagons and loco's get unboxed tomorrow and the yard becomes fully operational.
Still got some things to do like shunting signals, loading gauge and yard lights etc, but very pleased with how its all come together - although after a couple of weeks planting grass and bushes etc, I am more than ready for running trains........will post some more pictures tomorrow once the wagons roll.
Cheers Richard

Looking very good Hound Dog, the trees and bushes are nicely balanced around the layout. Looking forward to seeing all the rolling stock in place.

Coming along nicely; your time spent doing the scenic work has been well spent and you deserve some train running time as a reward!
Did you scratchbuild the goods shed or is it a proprietary item or kit?

I can only echo what has already been said Richard. Excellent.
"Not very stable, but incredibly versatile."

Thanks for the kind comments - the Goods Shed is a really nice Metcalfe card kit, probably the one I enjoyed the most out of the many of their kits that I have built..........a tad bigger that I would have liked but actually blends in quite well now that all the scenery and accessories are in place etc.cheshire lines wrote: ↑Wed Feb 02, 2022 4:04 pm Coming along nicely; your time spent doing the scenic work has been well spent and you deserve some train running time as a reward!
