I have not done any work on the layout now for sometime - months. We have had new carpets fitted in several bedrooms which has meant beds and furniture has been relocated, and while the rooms are empty a bit of decorating was required, so access to the railway room has either been blocked or I've had to tunnel under clothes racks, climb over dressing tables etc. to get access to the room. Last carpet is coming tomorrow, so hopefully by the end of the week we will be back to normal.

The cliff face may now become a rock face - I have been studying the Woodland Scenics "how to" videos, and a rock-face may look better than cliffs.
The main station canopies need to be relocated, as the wiring connections are not easily accessible on the last one I built - forward planning went awry.
There are five/six yard lamps to be added and powered in the fiddle yard.
The whole layout needs a good clean - a very good clean!
I need to try out my new(?) static grass applicator and start building some trees (growing your own may take some time!).

So lots to do - hopefully normal service will resume very soon. BB

Trying to get some inspiration today - so I re-surfaced the main line platform surfaces with Railmatch roof-dirt - look like new tarmac - I decided Halfords Grey Primer was too light. I also removed the hill/tunnel yesterday and gave the track a good clean. Also the lights in the "newer" station canopies are a bit temperamental so a bit of soldering is required. With the canopies removed, this might be the time to get the 3rd rail installed in the station area - nothing to accidentally catch your arm on!

Someone asked me a while back what my track plan was, so I've taken a picture of the plan in Cyril Freezers - 60 Plans for Small Locations. Where I have deviated from this plan, is that my main line goes straight into the fiddle yard, and I could not fit the track connection between the branch-line and the main-line, which is at the bottom of the "U" - depending on which way up your looking at the plan. The layout fits into and around three sides of a 10x7 room. BB

No pictures yet, but I'm now doing some of the jobs I should have done two years ago - like fitting magnets for the Kadees under the main-line about a loco's length from the buffer stops in the station - so a bit of ballast removal. Also the third-rail (Code 60 - Z Gauge) and fittings have now arrived, so the main-line is going to get the 3rd rail. The Woodland Scenics Rock Moulds have also arrived, so the cliff/rock face now needs some work and finishing. Also some static grass - so hopefully I will be able to test the static grass applicator. Having removed the station canopies and the main station building, I forgot to label the wiring - so the language under the boards was a bit blue, but I think I can remember what goes where? So lots to do - and I have started doing it. BB

Magnets fitted - it was a simple job removing the ballast, but a b***er of a job removing the self-adhesive cork underlay. For anyone reading this for the first time - "ALWAYS PLAN IN ADVANCE" - it makes life a little easier. BB
