Wagon Sheets

Post by cheshire lines »

Saw these advertised in Railway Modeller Magazine a while back and decided to try them.

They come in sheets like this.

The first step was to select some open wagons and make loads for the sheets to cover.

Also included in the kit was some cotton thread to use as ropes to secure the sheets to the wagon, as seen in this picture of the wagons being shunted in the Lostock Junction goods yard.

I’ve used them on my layout, I reckon they are very good.

Very effective they are too. Add realism to ones railway!
Don't forget to tie them down. (You may have done this. I can't see from the pics).

They do look good. Are they paper or another material? If paper the print job is very realistic. R-
Young at heart. Slightly older in other parts.

They are a type of paper. You have too screw them up into a tight ball then flatten them out again. Look just like a well used tarpaulin.

Sounds like the ideal material for making the cover that stretches from a loco cab roof back to the tender. I might try a pack.
